How do I purchase a Mobile Home?
Unless you are paying cash the process of purchasing a Mobile Home, within a community or on your own lot, is slightly different than a regular home purchase. The home is considered Real Property but is typically sold separately from the ground it's parked on. You will need special types of financing to purchase, and there are specific Lenders who can help you. If you are purchasing within a Mobile Home park, you will need to pay separate monthly lot rent to them in addition to your mortgage. If you plan to park your Mobile Home on your own lot, you will need to purchase the lot separately and have a plan for water and sewer access.
