Maryland Property Tax Assessments, Phase 2

Maryland just released the 2023 property tax rates for properties in their Tier 2 areas. This includes cities like Dunkirk, Upper Marlboro, Leonardtown, Brandywine, and Bryan's Road among others. Northern Calvert, Western Anne Arundel, Western Howard County, and Western Charles Counties are affected. To check your County's assessment phase click here.

What's the big deal? Property taxes have increased approximately 20% over the previous assessment 3 years ago. If you don't have your primary residence registered in Maryland's Homestead Tax Credit program your property tax payments may jump up significantly over the next 3 years (assessments are phased-in). The tax credit program limits those increases to 10% year over year.
